Is anybody out there?

Friday, 15 January 2016

Is this thing still on? Are you still there somewhere? ;)

Well if you are than I am here to tel you that I am still around - I have been quite silent in blog-land as of late but I promise I have not disappeared completely!
OK, if you are still reading than I am truly grateful and I guess I better get to the point of this blog-post right?!

I created this layout starring my mom and my two girls, using one of the sketches over at the Let's Get Sketchy blog and I just love the clean look to it.
The Sunshine Sorbet paper looks so fab alongside the gold Thickers , the gold vellum and that adorable Waltzing Mouse stamp.

I will be back on Monday with a brand new Some Odd Girl creations and don't forget to join us for the Some Odd Girl Birthday Week.

sml-birthday

Have a great Friday!

Simple lil canvas

Monday, 30 November 2015

I have had this small canvas (about 3x3 inches) sitting at my desk for several weeks, all covered with black gesso and waiting to be decorated.

So I decided to take one of my fave Prima flowers of all time and use that as the main decorative piece of the canvas.

I added a gold gem trim around the edges of the canvas, splatters of Antique gold mist from Prima to the background and misted the butterfly wings from 13ARTS with the same mist. Then I added the scrumptious flower and the gold sentiment from American Crafts and this quick project is all done.

Just love it when a quick and easy project gets me back in the crafty mood.

Jibby!

Wednesday, 28 October 2015

Even though I love scrapbooking it takes me several evenings to complete one layout these days.
It is rather weird for me cause I usually finish a layout in one evening or two.

The reason for that is that I have began to create about four different kinds of projects all at once so that might be the reason for the length at this point!

Well enough about my crafty adventures and lets talk about this layout. I took this photo on June 17 (the Icelandic Independence Day) and I just love how clean and sweet the photo is. So I decided to use a "clean" mixed media approach to the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I truly appreciate it!

T.G.I.F.

Friday, 7 August 2015

Wohoo Friday is here and it's sunny one so why not celebrate with a summery card!

I created this soft and summery card using some of my older (and loved) American Crafts papers along with a beautiful LaLa Land Crafts stamp.

I colored the image using my Tim Holtz Distress markers and a bit of Ranger Stickles to add a bit of bling to this lil cutie!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your Friday is a good one!

Cuteness

Thursday, 6 August 2015

I am just loving all things scrapbooking these days and it is even more fun when I use the mixed media tips to create my layouts.

My younger daughter can be a burst of cuteness and sunshine at times. After her bath one day she was just bursting with cuteness so I just had to snap a pic or two.

So I decided to go for pinks, yellows and soft blues as my color scheme and of course I had to add lots of flowers too!

I created the background using white gesso, mists and Neocolor pastels. I just love how soft and dreamy the background looks and the Neocolor pastels are so much fun to work with.

Princess Folio

Monday, 27 July 2015

I have another scrapbook fol to share and this time I used the gorgeous Princess collection from Prima Marketing.

I followed Chandra's tutorial for the  most part - the measurements aren't exactly the same but close enough.

I love how many pockets and inserts are int the folio and I just love the waterfall.

This collection is ohh so pretty and I just had to add a bit of bling to the mix by using this fab glitter cardstock from Core' dinations and of course my trusty Wink of Stella pen!

Here is a video of the mini in case you want to get a closer look at the whole album.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Peachy Keen notebook

Friday, 17 July 2015

I made this little travelers notebook after looking at several Faux-Midori books and a great tutorial for a waterfall mini by My Sisters Scrapper.

I used some of my older (and loved) patterned papers from American Crafts to create this book, Distress ink, AC stamps, twine, Colored pencils and the Cheers Kaylee digi stamp from Some Odd Girl.

Here is a quick video of the notebook in case you want a closer look.

A Ladie's Diary mini

Monday, 11 May 2015

I just love the Ladies' Diary paper collection by Graphic 45 and I will admit to the fact that I have a very difficult time using it up.

The coors and patterned are some of my all time fave and it looks like this collection will soon be used up - I guess I can justify  buying a brand new spanking paper pad! ;)

I tried a new style of page-making with this album and you can find the tutorial over at Scrapbook Maven's YouTube channel. Lots of fab tips on her YT site.

I wanted to keep the focus on the gorgeous papers so I kept my embellishments to a minimum and the punched pockets look really nice in this album.

I also made a quick video where I flip through the album itself.

Thanks for stopping by!
